THE ROOT OF IT ALL IS THAT WE'RE ALL JUST TOO DAMN SIMILAR TO EACH OTHER !
We have to create a whole new world in our head just to stop ourselves from being like everyone else

and are any of them trying???

(if anything, people in our world need to try to conform and be like everyoen else, and r slowly understanding that thats not the answer...)

Wow. that comment shocked me.
A- it was shallow. going to school and having the same textbooks, or being awake at the same time ISNT WHAT MAKES US WHO WE ARE.

B- if you really think we are all so similiar you can throw out a "basicly the same" then you DONT KNOW YOUR FRIENDS.

there is nothing i believe that only i believe, because there simply arn't enough opinions. for example, i do believe what Joi wrote in that selfishness post. not cuz she wrote it but cuz ive thought about it before. apparently, Benjy and Ayn Rand believe something similiar as well.
so sue me. does that mean we're all the same???
besides, i dont need to invent a whole new opinion to count as a "different person". i havemy opinions that were formulated in my mind becuz I thought about them. WHY ISNT THAT ENOUGH???

we all react differently to situations. and sure, if were 10 ppl at yonatan, we wont react in 10 TOTALLY DIFFERENT WAYS, but there will be big differences between groups and subtlies between each and every one.
we dont need to patent our behavior so noone steals it.
none of us are afraid someone might agree with us, cuz we all have a sense of self.
and if you cant see that, ur not the person i thought you were. maybe you really are just the same.

ok so mayb i'm not getting what miriam meant the right way...but if its what i think she means i agree with her...its not a shallow thing at all...even simple personal opinions are based on something else...say as an example you're going somewhere where you want to leave a good impression so you make yourself fit in to where yuo are, you dont think of how you want to show everyone else how diffrent you are from them you think of what you think other ppl would be happy with and that is a sort of influence by other ppls opinion. if everyone was used to showing people how they were diffrent everything would be diffrent this whole world. being the same isnt always bad i just personally wish at least about myself that there would b something really special about me alone that no one else would ever do or have or wtvr i wanna be able to do something so diffrent that no one else would do that would stand out, and the only reason it would stand out was because other ppl are used to thinking in the same patterns....if everyone was always diffrent being diffrent wont stand out so much...

i dont think so. where ever we go, we try to stand out. wether thats justified or not is a whole different reason. but i think its ridiculous. wanted to be in the only one in ur group of friend to do something, then learn the saxaphone. its not hard. it takes a tinsy bit of courage. but to be the only everywhere?
i think its so weird. i dont need to have purple hair to be special...
Gabi, stay with me for a minute. if there wasnt SOMETHING that made us different, and i mean so different from each other we could be different planets- how would a girl fall in love? we could be switching guys every day and not feel the difference. maybe go to a movie instead of lunch. but theres something there. isnt that enough proof?

I dont think that ppl have to be completely diffrebnt cuz then everything would be a mess...but so many ppl are the same, look at a skool for example, and i'm not saying that they all learn or have books or wtvr but for example the things that ppl where...the style (as an example) repeats itself... and its not something so simple as playing the saxaphone its a whole part of personality...obviously everyone has their unique qualities and their diffrences but its about showing their diffrences.......

I agree with Gabi 100%. And regarding this topic, check out my recent comments to the november 8th post. It hasta do with the same thing.
Ironic, when I wrote a comment i was "lame" and BZ, u were "in shock", but when Gabi writes her opinion (which is like the opinion i have) it's more like "Explaining your postition and thoughts" and not so much "attacking" her.

One of the reasons I noticed the thing about how everyopne is too much alike is becasue I'm writing a book. And it switched tellers. And each teller is different, and for that I need to get into a fictional mind, maybe even a mind that I don't agree with. And I was asking around, what people think when they're just sitting starign out a window, or what do they think when they're sitting in class bored, and so on, and people's responses were so similar that it was scary. I mean really. I would lie ka bit more variation.
Anyway, so I left the idea of trying to create characters based on my friends and I;m beginning to create a completely fictional person, someone that I don't know, someone that I don't agree with.
